Dear Goldhut: More than likely the loan is a VA loan and you should have her contact the regional VA loan ctr. and request an advocate. If it is not a VA loan, Check info on HUD.Gov web site under foreclosure assistance. You may also check: http://www.spoch.org and http://www.consultaplanner.org Since her spouse is deceased and abandonded property takes up to a few years before it is returned to the state, you should check unclaimed funds websites for her & spouses names. Also check with her states department of banking and insurance which is usually linked to the State Attorney General's or States main web page to see if there are any unredeemed insurance policies. Since her spouse was a wounded and decorated veteran, try contacting the Order of Purple Heart and veterans service organizations such as VFW, American Legion, etc. Blessings, Elaine
